Ways to Save Your Money to Get What You Want

There’s plenty of ways to save your dough, pound, francs, peso etc., but the system and method I like to use is by Myron Golden’s The Ebony Treasure Map. What he explains in his book is a system I implement myself. A simple method that’s powerful.

Get all you Can, Can all you get. You might ask why all the cans? The cans signify that you Can save for what you want. The objective is to get 6 cans.

1)      The first can goes to God, so 10% goes to tithing or to your favorite charity, however your heart is led to give. In Luke 6:38 Sais; Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, “will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

Where also exchanging currency constantly, so in order to keep the current flowing through you, it’s important to give. So put 10% aside to give to tithing or some sort of charity.

2)      Put 10% in your I can finish free can. This cans sole purpose is to generate passive income streams. Passive income opportunities should be a system that produces money on the side, preferably that requires little effort after the system is set up, to free up your time. Examples of passive income streams are Parking Lots, Laundromats, Car Wash, or Network Marketing.

In Network Marketing you have an above average opportunity of becoming rich. There’s little overhead expense, no need for a brick and mortar storefront, and you get to leverage your time and efforts with duplicating your system through people.

The Network Marketing business I’m involved in is called The Ultimate Cycler.

My first post on my blog explains the facts about this company.

3)      Your third can is to set 10% aside for your education. They say the best investment is in you. Benjamin Franklin’s quote, “If a man empties his purse into his head, no one can take it from him.” So you can’t go wrong devoting your dollars to your education.

4)      The fourth can is invested in what you want. The money in that can is meant to be saved for that car you want. That vacation you’ve been longing to go on, or that nice new love seat that you want to buy. Whatever that big ticket item may be, this can should cover those expenses.

5)      The fifth can is the I can have fun can. This one is my favorite. I can have fun can has one stipulation; you must spend it all on whatever brings fun into your life. It can be whatever tickles you’re fancy. The purpose of this can is to end that feeling of working for nothing,”disserve issues,” and so you don’t tap into your other earnings.

6)      The sixth and final can is I can pay my bills can. In this can 50% of your income goes into this can. Your monthly expenses, such as; rent, cell phone, electric/ gas bill etc., should be covered from out this can.

If it seems hard to live off of half your income reduce your bills. For example; if you have a car payment, get a car with no car payment, downgrade your living quarters, if you have cable/ satellite with all the channels get the basic package. You get my drift? Just be sure to live within your means. Follow this simple method, and you will be amazed at what you can accomplish.

Thanks to Myron Golden for his can money management system.

Fast-Track Your Career With Personal Branding

In today's world, it's important to take your personal brand seriously if you want others to take you seriously. Try out these tips for understanding the importance of personal branding, defining your own personal brand, and marketing your brand for greater career success.

Understanding the Importance of Personal Branding

Your personal brand helps you to:

1. Prosper as a free agent. Your personal brand is your reputation. It's the way others see you. If you're like most people, you may be switching jobs and employers regularly. Your personal brand is an asset you can take with you wherever you go.

2. Chart your own direction. Your brand will help you to establish goals, priorities and action plans. Even while taking care of daily obligations, you'll have a bigger picture in mind.

3. Serve others. Self promotion can go too far, so it's easy to think that branding is somehow vain or self-absorbed. In reality, your personal brand shows the positive impact you can have on other people and the world around you.

Defining Your Own Personal Brand

These tips will help you create an outstanding personal brand:
1. Take an inventory. Take a good look at yourself. Write out your strengths and weaknesses. Identify your passions. Think about what you're good at and what you like to do.

2. Distinguish yourself from your colleagues. There are plenty of talented and dependable people in every field. Pinpoint your unique selling point. Maybe you're a gas station owner who maintains the cleanest bathrooms in town.

3. Talk about benefits. Let your target audience know what you can do for them. Explain how you can boost profits by increasing sales or saving money.

4. Summarize your mission in 10 seconds or less. Be prepared to capture people's attention quickly. Let them know what you do in 15 words or less. You can tell you're on the right track when they ask for more details.

5. Ask for feedback. Survey your family, friends, customers and colleagues to find out what they think of you and your abilities. Show your appreciation for constructive criticism so they'll keep sharing it with you.

6. Stay updated. Review your personal mission statement every six months. Make new action plans so you're always getting closer to your goals.

Marketing Your Personal Brand

Use these strategies to expand your reach:

1. Increase your visibility. Post fresh content on your website or blog regularly. Stay active in social media. Look for opportunities to teach classes, give presentations, or write articles in your field.

2. Build buzz. Collect samples of positive feedback you get in the workplace. Assemble testimonials from happy clients and encourage them to make referrals. Word of mouth is often more effective and certainly cheaper than paid advertising.

3. Tell your success stories. Craft brief anecdotes about your accomplishments that showcase your skills and make you proud. Rehearse telling them so you sound natural.

4. Monetize your contribution. Numbers sound convincing. Try to quantify the value you can deliver. For example, if you're pitching your IT services to a small business owner, discuss how much money they can save by signing up with you for monthly maintenance visits that reduce the risk of expensive repairs and downtime.

5. Put together a dream team. It's difficult to go it alone. Cultivate your network. Help others to market their brand and they're more likely to do the same for you. Team up with complementary partners. Exchange services like cooking meals for a friend who cuts your hair.

Branding used to be for cattle and big corporations, but now everyone is in on the act. Take charge of your personal brand to achieve more career success and guide your life in a direction that is meaningful for you.

Want to Leave a Legacy? 8 Ways You Can Make a Lasting Difference

1. Notice others. It can be a challenge to actually see those who are right in front of you. Consider the custodian at work, the elderly man who walks his dog past your house each day, or the sales clerk at the convenience store.
* We all offer something of value to the world. Focus on who is around you and acknowledge their presence.
2. Make a personal comment. A kind word, funny statement, or short conversation can make a positive impact on another person's day - or sometimes, even their life.
* "You did such a good job with that" or "Your colors are perfectly coordinated today" tell others you have interest in them.
3. Emit positivity. No matter where you are, nothing has a greater effect than a positive person in the crowd. Be that person.
4. Keep your eyes and ears open to the needs of others. Maybe an unemployed neighbor has a teenage daughter who desires to complete a training program for her dream career. Unfortunately, the program costs $500 and your neighbor cannot afford to pay this fee for his daughter. Can you?
* What would it mean to you and that young lady if you're willing to pay for the training that will make her dreams come true?
* You'll be exhilarated once you begin to give what you can to others in ways that will enhance their lives. You simply cannot imagine this feeling until you've experienced it.
5. Be willing to give your time to something worthwhile. What if a friend needed to complete a class but had no babysitter for her child? Would you step up and offer your babysitting services free of charge? Think about how appreciative she would be.
* Perhaps, at first, she wouldn't accept your offer. There may be times like these where you must insist in order to help another. The experience will be quite rewarding for you.
6. Be brave. Whenever you reach outside your comfort zone to affect others, it will feel different, awkward or a bit uncomfortable at first. Embrace the idea of doing something to affect another person in ways you might not even understand or realize right now. Exude your confidence in the process. Try it and see what happens.
7. Start your own "slush fund" for contributing to the lives of those who need it. The total amount is less important than your intentions to do something that matters.
* If you want to give a larger amount than you have right now, save a little at a time. If you bank $50 a month, at the end of a year you'll have $600 to contribute.
* You'll be surprised at the opportunities you'll discover to do something great for someone. Your generosity can change their life for the better.
8. Think of the long-term effects of your contributions. When evaluating situations to determine whether to help, consider the long-term consequences.
* For example, giving $500 for a complete training program for someone who'll retain ongoing employment because of it is profoundly affecting. However, giving that same $500 to someone to pay their bills for one month without future plans for change may not be your preferred way of contributing.
* Babysitting someone's child for 6 months while they attend evening classes to complete their bachelor's degree will ultimately have a greater effect than loaning someone money to install stereo speakers in his vehicle.
If you want to contribute to the lives of others, look around you. It's exciting to know that with a bit of extra money, time, or work, you can dramatically change the life of another person forever. Commit now to make a difference and leave a legacy. You'll be amazed at the renewed passion you feel for your own journey!

Bored at Work? How to Get Excited About Your Job Again

1. Find something that sparks your interest. When you have an interest in something, you're more likely to enjoy the time you spend doing it. Do whatever's necessary to peak your interest in a topic.

* For example, if the boss wants you to develop a brochure for a trade show, look at other trade show brochures. See what the rest of the industry does with the project.

2. Discover new knowledge. Whenever you take in new information, you become more skilled at what you're doing. As your expertise grows, so can your pay rate in your career, and that's something exciting you can look forward to!

* To stay motivated, adapt a pattern of continuous learning. When you find new information related to your goals at work, your level of interest is successfully cultivated. You'll then be compelled to move forward in your work.

3. Let your creativity flow. Whenever you unleash your full power to do your job, wonderful things can happen. Creativity sparks your imagination to do tasks in new ways and implement innovative processes that make your job seem new again.

4. Make it your own. On a new work assignment, do your best to come up with a finished product that you'll be impressed with. Put your own twist on it. Feel the pride of doing an outstanding job and enjoy the resulting accolades.

* Taking ownership of a job is a key to keeping your motivation at an all-time high.

5. Decide you want to be the most exceptional worker at your place of business. Strive to develop a name for yourself as the best office worker, insurance agent, proofreader, or whatever it is you do.

* When you're at the top of your game, every work assignment that comes your way allows you to show your stuff.

6. Ask for help when you need it. Seek assistance right away when you struggle to move forward with a project. This way, you'll avoid generating feelings of annoyance, frustration, and disappointment in your performance.

* Instead, you'll say, "Wow, I see now" and move forward with renewed interest in your project.

7. Embrace your work. View your job as an important priority in your life and keep your mind on your work when you're at the office. Recognize that your family's existence depends on your career.

* Stay in touch with what you love at work and use it to maintain your motivation.

8. Let your paycheck inspire you. The clear fact is that money motivates most of us. And when you work, you get paid. Imagine the riches that might come to you because of your high motivation for doing your job.

Re-discover why you chose your career. Use these tips to inspire you and pump up your motivation at work!

Frustrated? 13 Annoyance-Busters You Can Count On

Benefits of Diverting Your Focus in Various Ways:
1. Achieve your goals. Frustration can be educational. When our desires are thwarted, we learn what we really care about. Use that discomfort to figure out what matters to you and become more determined to improve your life.

2. Enjoy more peace of mind. Delays and detours are a part of life. Train yourself to stay calm when your kitchen remodeling takes 3 months longer than the original estimate. That way you can enjoy sampling neighborhood restaurants instead of worrying about the disruption in your routine.

3. Think more clearly. You'll feel like a genius when you abandon getting frustrated. All the energy that goes into nurturing grievances can now be diverted into problem solving. You're bound to discover new alternatives and capabilities.

4. Communicate better. When you feel content, it's easier to express yourself. The people around you are also likely to listen to you better because there is less reason for them to feel defensive.

Overcoming Frustration From Irritating Events:

1. Establish priorities. Distinguish between minor setbacks and more serious events. If you're constantly doing the work of two positions, you may want to propose a restructuring or look for another job.

2. Create a realistic schedule. Taking on too much responsibility can make anyone feel harried. Winnow down your workload until it's compatible with the timeframe allotted.

3. Value and reward persistence. Success happens when we persevere. If your tomatoes refuse to ripen one hot summer, try planting a different vegetable next year that will tolerate extreme weather better.

4. Manage impulses. Losing our composure can cause us to engage in actions that we later regret. If the vacation destination you had your heart set on is sold out, give yourself a cooling off period before spending too much money on another package before you really have time to analyze it.

5. Break out of your rut. Growing irritability may be a sign that you need to shake things up. Take a new route to work. The change of scenery may make road work more bearable.

6. Practice standing in line. Our tolerance for frustration increases with practice. Work out at the post office or local market. Bring along something that you can read while you stand in line. Use your ear buds to listen to a lecture.

Overcoming Frustration From Exasperating People:

1. Put yourself in their shoes. Increase your empathy for others. Think about their motivation even if you dislike their choices. Understanding their position will help you to accommodate each other.

2. Be willing to compromise. Encourage an atmosphere of give and take. If you're tolerant of a shopper who takes too long at the cash register, others may show you the same courtesy.

3. Clarify your boundaries. On the other hand, you need to be clear about what you find acceptable. You may welcome occasional overtime so long as you get advance notice to arrange for childcare.

Learn to avoid frustrations or use them to prompt constructive action. You'll find that you'll soon get better results in your personal and professional activities and experience less irritation.

Accomplish More Each Day With These 7 Strategies

Do you find yourself feeling stressed out because you have too many things to do? After all, there are tasks to finish for work, things to complete around the house, and activities you want to do with your family.
How can you do it all?
If you feel bogged down from life once in a while, maybe it's time to try some new approaches.
These strategies will enable you to accomplish more of what you want each day:
1. Think "balance." Consider that you're awake roughly 16 hours daily. Segmenting your day into percentages and then following your plan will help you achieve balance in your activities.
* For example: "I will work 50% (8 hours) of my waking hours tomorrow. Twenty-five percent (4 hours) of my time, I'll spend with my family. I'll paint the bedroom in the other 25%."
* Although achieving balance isn't always easy, working toward that goal will improve your life immensely.
2. Each evening, reflect on tomorrow. Sometime before bed, ponder the next day. Be proactive by thinking about what tomorrow might bring so you don't feel so overwhelmed when it arrives.
* Where will you be? For how long?
* Who will you be with?
* Decide which tasks you'll work on the following day.
3. Create a to-do list. A list of things that you want to accomplish enables you to collect those scattered bits of thoughts that you keep going over and over in your mind. With a list, you can focus better on each task as you do it rather than being distracted by details of many tasks.
* You'll feel less stressed when you have a list. Checking off your accomplishments feels great and compels you to continue focusing on your tasks.
4. Write down your long-term goals. Tack them up where you can view them as you plan each day. This way, you can include some tasks that will contribute to the eventual accomplishment of your overall goals. Your passion for your goals will burn brightly.
5. Avoid overwhelming yourself with too many tasks. Circle the three tasks on your list that are the most important and start on them early in the day. Ensure that you accomplish these priority tasks.
6. Be realistic about what you can accomplish in the time allotted. Avoid setting yourself up for failure. Divide bigger jobs into several smaller tasks to more accurately estimate your time.
* For example, rather than say, "Write a 50-page e-book," you could state something like, "Complete the outline of a 50-page e-book."
7. Evaluate your progress throughout the day. If you want to go further on a task than what you had planned, consider how doing so will affect your ability to get started on your other things to do that day. Be confident about your decision whether to continue or move on.
Follow these tips and you'll enjoy greater accomplishments in all areas of your life. Achieve the successful results you seek as you make more time to do what you really want to do!

Prepare Your Mind for Prosperity: 10 Ways to Think Like a Winner

Prepare Your Mind for Prosperity: 10 Ways to Think Like a Winner

Have you heard the saying, "Attitude is everything"? This adage reveals a great truth: the perspective you take in any situation ultimately determines the outcome. So if you're hoping to bring prosperity into your life, it's important to learn to think like a winner.
How can you acquire the mindset of a winner?
Try these strategies:
1. Acknowledge that you're human. You're fallible because you're human. Rather than seeking perfection, strive to attain the abundance that presents itself to you.
2. Know what you want. Be specific about what you're trying to accomplish. For example, if you're running a marathon, perhaps your goal is to complete the race or to finish and not be in last place.
3. Aim high but not too high. Using the marathon example, if you're running a marathon for the first time, you could aim to finish in the top half of the group.
4. Refuse to set yourself up for failure. Setting unrealistically high expectations is strategically not the best plan. If you lack experience or expertise in something, rather than saying, "I'm going to be number one," say "I'm so proud of myself for going after my dreams. As long as I complete this task, I'm a winner."
5. Embrace compliments from others. Do you shrug off kind words from others? If so, it's time to recognize that most of us don't go out of our way to praise another unless we're quite impressed with something they did.
* When you prosper, people take note of it and often comment about it. Accept praise and compliments from others with open arms and keep up the great work!
6. Do a personal inventory. Take stock of when you've been the most prosperous in your life.
* What are your major successes?
* What have you done well?
* What are you the most proud of?
7. Remind yourself of your positive character traits. Spend some time making the connection between who you are and the abundance you've already received in your life.
8. Recognize prosperity comes in all "flavors." Although money is a nice way to show notice of your stellar performance, you can also prosper in other ways. You might get more perks at work. Maybe you'll be recognized in your field by getting an award. Perhaps you'll become the "go to" person whenever people are facing a challenge.
9. See the power you have in your own life. When you take responsibility to traverse life's challenges on your own terms, you'll truly feel your own strength. You will prosper when you step up and make the decision to prosper.
10. Find the successes in your daily actions. However a situation concludes, consider your actions and what you did well. After a particularly challenging event, take some time to determine the positive aspects of the experience.
* For example, if you submitted a project plan to your boss, that, in itself, is something to feel good about.
* Even if your boss ultimately went with a different plan, you gained work experience in the process. You stuck to something and followed through. Your boss will remember those things. Ultimately, you'll prosper in some way from the experience.
What you believe about yourself and a situation before it occurs determines whether you'll reap the benefits of that situation. So, prepare your mindset for prosperity by thinking like a winner. You'll live the prosperous life of your dreams!
